Since its inception in 2002, Judi's House has provided grief support services to children and
families who have experienced the death of a loved one. Judi's House provides grieving children
and their families a comforting environment of acceptance and understanding that creates a
pathway to finding hope and healing within oneself. Over 2,600 children and their families
have been helped by Judi's House via peer support services that extend outside of Judi's House
to schools, churches, hospices and other community care giving institutions. In the last year,
the number of grieving children that are currently being served by Judi's House has increased
by 60 percent and the number of adult caregivers attending group sessions has nearly doubled.
Judi's House serves an ethnically and socioeconomically diverse population that has experienced
the death of a loved one as a result of multiple causes. Over 70 percent of the children served
by Judi's House have experienced the sudden death of a parent which oftentimes leads to high
levels of distress and both short and long-term emotional/behavioral problems. Over the last year,
innovative research programs have been initiated with the goal of alleviating the negative effects
of grief that children often experience. The immense support from the local community via individual,
family and corporate donations, sponsorship of fundraising events and the over 2,700 hours of volunteer
service have allowed for Judi's House to increase its reach within the community and raise awareness
of its available services.

Savio offers comprehensive services that strengthen families and prevent child abuse, neglect and youth delinquency.
From its start as an orphanage in 1966, this west Denver agency has evolved to include in-home counseling and crisis
intervention services, therapeutic foster care, temporary residential treatment, and alternative education. A pioneer
in the use of highly researched and proven programming, Savio uses caring, culturally appropriate, and effective strategies
to resolve family conflicts and stop problem behaviors so that children can be safe and experience success in life.
Savio's individualized in-home support systems for children, youth, and their families have been shown to produce better
results than traditional approaches involving high-cost residential and institutional care. Savio tracks case outcomes
in all program areas, studies cost effectiveness, and receives feedback to constantly learn how the interventions can be
improved. Over 6,000 individuals' lives throughout Colorado are touched by Savio services each year.
