About Biz Bash
No tie? No fancy dress? No problem!
CoBiz Financial Chairman and CEO Steve Bangert was tired of having to wear a tux to every philanthropic event. After many conversations with fellow CoBiz executives, they came up with an idea for a fundraiser that they would both eagerly attend – AND invite their friends!
In 2001 the Biz Bash was created. It combines music, mingling, a unique silent auction and delicious food – all to raise money for a great cause. The Biz Bash was well -received and quickly became renowned for being more black t-shirt than black tie, more dancing than programming, more epicurean than etiquette and more fun. The mission of the Biz Bash is to produce a benefit concert that raises funds for worthy children's causes in both Arizona and Colorado. Our proven success comes from the support of CoBiz employees, clients, partners and friends who continue to believe in the Biz Bash’s purpose year after year.
Since its inception, the Biz Bash has raised more than $3.3 million for local non-profit organizations in both Arizona and Colorado. After becoming a qualified beneficiary, each non-profit selected receives monies for two consecutive years. Net proceeds from the Biz Bash have ranged from $100,000 to $300,000 – an amazing feat for only one night!
